Easy Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon Buns:

Use the bread recipe above, and roll out instead of shaping into a loaf.
Filling.. I winged it! I knew the basics of cinnamon rolls.. dough - filling.. lol

I used:
The dough from the bread recipe >>HERE<<
1 cup of Packed brown sugar
1 Cup of white granulated sugar
1 - 2 tbs of cinnamon
Butter - I just used a spoon and spread the butter out on the rolled dough.
I combined the sugar and cinnamon together, and put it on top the butter, anything left I devided for the top and bottom of the rolls (more on the bottom makes them like a sticky cinnamon bun - SO YUMMY!!)

I had no idea how many it was going to make, so my picture is of a bunch of squished cinnamon rolls.. lol!
But trust me.. these will blow your mind!

Home Made Bread

Homemade Bread
1½ cups warm water
1 tbsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tsp salt
3½ - 4 cups flour

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in the warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy. Add the oil to this mixture

Add in 1-2 cups of the flour and salt. Mix and keep adding in the remaining flour in ½ cup increments until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes on a floured surface until it is soft and elastic.
*Edit I found it easier to make a hole like a volcano in the flour, pour the wet mix in and mix it this way*

Put the dough in a lightly greased bowl ( I used PAM Cooking spray), cover, and let it rise in a warm place for approximately an hour until it has doubled in volume.

Deflate the dough and shape it into two loaves. Place them at least 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet (again I used PAM Cooking spray) and cover with a DRY cloth/tea towel. Let it rise again in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes until it has doubled in size.
Or place in loaf pans. I like the cookie sheets cause then my bread come out shaped like rye bread :)

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

***This recipe makes super delish buns too!
Make double the recipe when its time for the loaf making, divide into 3 make 2 loaves and 12 buns

Cut about 1 - 2 inches wide, and put into a lightly greased Cupcake tin
EDIT: *Or You can also roll into balls and place on a cookie sheet, press the balls down slightly, and you get more of a hamburger shaped bun this way*

Butterflies (made from coffee filters and food colouring)

Making butterlfies

This is an easy way to paint without paint!
Be aware - you might want to make sure your child has a "paint shirt" or smock to do this.

What you Need:

4 bowls or plates
food colouring
cotton swabs (I find Q-Tips work the best)
Coffee filters
Pipe cleaners cut in half
And your handy little helper ;)

So lets begin! I use gel based food colouring so my colours might pop a little more then water based food colouring. You need a couple drops of water based food colouring, or 1 drop of the gel based food colouring. Use whatever colours you like, we stuck with the red, yellow, green, and blue

.

A little bit of water (again this depends how bright you'd like your colours) I used 2 Table Spoons with each colour. We also had to mix the gel well with the water. (you can see in some photos its not mixed well - my son was wanting to use the paint before I was finished lol)

We flattened our coffee filters before we used them too.

I
put news paper down before my little guy started "painting"

The Cotton swabs acted as our paint brushes

After we were done, we layed the coffee filters flat on some newspaper to dry (these dry fairly quick)
while these dry is a perfect time to cut the pipe cleaners in half. I found the more colours you have the better
Grab a dry coffee filter and pinch in in the middle

wrap a pipe cleaner around the middle ( I do this twice)

You have yourself a butterfly.. Tada!!

Snack box / Toy box

Snack box / travel toy box

As I have said before, I like to try to reuse stuff. I usually buy the refils for baby wipes but had coupons for the containers. So I bought a couple. Now I have these 2 Wipes containers and nothing to do with them.
So I repurposed one to be a snack box, but it can also double as a car toy box.
What you need:
Plastic Wipes container
Scissors
Scrap book paper
Glue gun or craft glue
Old toys or some from McDonalds or wendys ect

I messured out the sides of the box withscrap book paper and cut them out.
then glued the paper to the sides

I hot glued his little toys on there aswell as a lable so my little guy would know it was just for him. I used the snack size ziplock bags and put gold fish, ritz, granola bars, thinsations ect inside. So when he wants a snack he can pick one out of the box :)
Of course you dont have to add the toys. Add your own personal touches :)

Jazz up that trash can / laundry basket

Photobucket

I recently found a cute "little" laundry basket at a local garage sale. I thought it would make the perfect trash can for when Im couponing. Its Not very big so why not. Well I have been using it for about a month and now I want to jazz it up.
You only need a basket like mine. Doesn't have to be the same just simular, sissors, and old shirts
I cut the shirts into strips (and was lucky enough that one of them had a lace stretch bottom, which fit around the rim of the laundry basket)

All I did was with the precut strips I tied them in knots see below :)

The bottom 2 layers I just wove 2 very long strips threw the holes. I think it turned out great. My daughters love it and say it cant be used as a trash can anymore :P

I wanted to create this little place mostly for myself to help me remember everything I have done, tried,  and plan to try. Along with my tips and tricks of course ;)

What will you find here.. who knows?! Anything from crafts, to storage tips, recipes.. anything :)

I am a stay at home mother of 4. I like to coupon, make crafts, scrap book, and try to reuse as much as I can. I am alway on the look out for great deals for food, crafting supplies, home and garden.

I also have 3 dogs, a cat, and a bf. So my time is limited, and so is our budget.
My kids are my insperation for everything. The way the play. The things they needs, stuff they find.. all of it.

We dont have alot of money, and my pictures may not be photographer perfect but Im sure you'll all get what Im trying to do :)
